Electric equipment manufacturers are the typical customization-oriented enterprises which have the multi-varieties and small-batch, even single piece production mode. The sheet metal processing shop is responsible for the process of product sheet metals, with many sheet metal specification and hard manufacturing tasks as its remarkable characteristics. As the market competition becomes increasingly fierce, the traditional manual management model has more and more hindered the further promotion of sheet metal manufacturing level. So it is significant to study on the integrated management of manufacturing process in sheet metal processing shop of electric equipment to implement non-paper,hyalinization and real time transformation of sheet metal processing, and integrate with the links of production planning,sheet metal design ,material purchasing, etc. Now numerous experts and scholars have obtained many valuable research results in respect of workshop manufacturing process management. However, few researches on the integrated management of manufacturing process in sheet metal processing shop of electric equipment have been carried out. This paper will do some research on the integrated manufacturing support system for sheet metal processing shop of electric equipment based on the advanced management ideas of Manufacturing Execution System (MES).First of all, based on the analysis of related techniques about workshop manufacturing process management, combined with the characteristics and requirements of integrated management in sheet metal processing shop, a kind of integrated manufacturing support system for sheet metal processing shop of electric equipment is presented. The architecture, running mode and information integration framework are set up. Researches on system architecture include the structure system, function system and network support system.Based on the main technique above, the main technical framework of the integrated manufacturing support system for sheet metal processing shop of electric equipment which includes main techniques, special techniques, and supporting techniques is established. Three techniques of the framework are studied, including the dynamic production information interaction in sheet metal processing shop based on multi-function interactive information terminal, the integrated optimizing operation of material information in sheet metal processing shop, the design and manufacturing information integration in sheet metal processing shop.Finally, based on the academic researches above, an integrated manufacturing support system for sheet metal processing shop of electric equipment was developed and applied in an electric equipment manufacturer in Chongqing. Good result of system implementation in the company was obtained.
