| Optimizing perforation program is critical to improve the communication between borehole and reservoir, minimize the formation damage and maximize the overall productivity of well; it integrates reservoir data, completion engineering and perforation technologies, it's also impacts the well integrity. Perforation optimizing is sensitive to factors such as reservoir petrophysical properties, drilling invasion, formation heterogeneity and shale volume of reservoir. On top of the perforation data analysis of Weizhou12-1 field, this article studied the effect of various perforating configuration on productivity, such as penetration depth, shot density, entry diameter and shot phase; and concluded the criteria to optimize and configure perforation about charge types, gun types, perforating technologies and parameters. Analyzed with existing 27 layers reservoir data, of 8 wells in Weizhou11-1 oilfield, the study proposed an optimized workflow and program of perforation at pre-drilling phase; which were implemented in the following wells completion, with necessary modification upon real reservoir penetrated. With the optimized peforation program, applied on 19 zones of 6 key wells observed, the study result was validated through completion and production data. Productivity was improved by 10 to 12 percent in average than the predicted; production enhancement was seen not only in high permeability reservoir, and also in moderate to low, or laminated reservoirs. The preliminary application of perforating optimization project in Westen South China Sea area has already seen significant economic impacts. |
