In 2005, Runzhen Middle School in Chunhua country in Xianyang city of Shaanxi province, supported by the Innovative Project of Rural Eco-campus, has developed environmental education among the broad masses of students in elementary and secondary schools in the rural area. Fully strengthened the roles of each subsystem of the Innovative Project of Rural Eco-campus, the school has combined the environmental education with production and practice of country effectively and gained the obvious effect and has opened up a new way of the environmental education of students in elementary and secondary schools in the rural area.Combining the connotation, target and realization way of the environmental education, this essay takes the Eco-campus in Shaanxi province as the research object and chooses Runzhen Middle School in Chunhua country in Xianyang city as a typical case, and mainly examines the concrete measures, achievements and the problems of the environmental education in this school. Finally, this paper presents some reasonable solutions considering the insufficiency which existed in the school.The paper maintains that the environmental education in this school has accumulated a large number of successful experiences after 6 years'active researches and deep practice. However, comparing the ultimate aim of environmental education—attitudes and values of environmental education,the whole work of environmental education still needs to be perfected, mainly in the following aspects: the curriculum reform for environmental education should be studied further; environmental accomplishment of teachers and students should be improved; the idea of environmental education should influence more people, and so on. On the basis of the requirement of higher goal of environmental education, this paper provides some suggestions on the environmental education of this school.The innovation of this paper is mainly embodied in the following three aspects: firstly, considering the study on environmental education of academia at present mostly limit in the field of pedagogy, this paper proposes that the environmental education needs to be realized and researched from multi-disciplinary, such as philosophy sociology, economics, ethics, etc; secondly, this paper maintains the environmental education should not merely pay attention to the interdisciplinary, multi-disciplinary integration, but also should pay more attention to the domestication of the educational content and the diversification of the educational form; thirdly, this paper maintains that on the choice of practice carriers of environmental education, people should not merely pay attention to education benefit of environmental education, but also should pay more attention to the economic benefits and social benefit, not only pay attention to the education of the students in elementary and secondary schools, but also pay more attention to the radiation and promotion of the environmental education.
