As a precision work tool used gear cutting tools, tooth surface accuracy of plunge shaving cutter has directly impact on gear processed accuracy. However, tooth shape of plunge shaving cutter is the beyond curved surface, and the tooth curve is the concave beyond curve, which complex surface to the plunge shaving cutter grinding brings some difficulties. In order to solve the processing and repeated grinding of plunge shaving cutter, domestic manufacturers mostly rely on imported CNC plunge shaving cutter grinding equipment, which high prices increase the cost of the use of plunge shaving cutter. In this context, this paper study on the grinding simulation of plunge shaving cutter based on AutoCAD and lay a theoretical foundation for the further development of plunge shaving grinding machine with independent intellectual property rights.First of all, this paper reviews processing technology,the reasons for grinding and the development process of shaving cutter, analysis the main features and application development profiles of plunge shaving cutter, and discusses grinding and virtual measurement methods of plunge shaving cutter based on simulation environment.Secondly, based on the geometry requirements, this paper analysis grinding principle and grinding process of plunge shaving cutter. In order to effectively improve tooth surface grinding accuracy of plunge shaving cutter, modeling process of the large cone truncated wheel is given.Then, this paper establishes a universal CNC grinding simulation system using mixing programming with VC++ and AutoCAD ObjectARX on the AutoCAD according to CNC grinding principle and physical Boolean calculation principle, which implements parametric simulation of CNC grinding and can adapt to different grinding simulated conditions.Finally, based on simulation results, this paper measures distortion error virtually of tooth shape and tooth curve of plunge shaving cutter, which avoid repeated grinding, interference from external factors and tedious process in the actual operation production...
