With the improvement of the ESP (Electric Submersible Pump) application technology, the ESP is more and more widely applied in horizontal well. Improving the success rate when the ESP is below the vertical section position in horizontal well has great significance for increasing the efficiency of the system in horizontal well and oil benefit. The actual bearing stress at bending segment is very complex when the ESP units cross the horizontal well. At present, the project staffs mostly use the method of deflection equal to estimate the bending stress at bending segment of the ESP units, but the estimated result lacks of intuitiveness and accuracy. In allusion to this issue, this paper adopts visual simulation technology to study the process of the electrical submersible pump units crossing the horizontal curved section, and also completes the visual simulation software of the units crossing the curved portion.Based on the analysis of stress state at bending section of the ESP units, mechanical model in different bending state of the units is established; also superposition principle and freely bending theory are used in the process of modeling. This paper analyses emphatically down force, gravity, friction and mechanical resistance at the bottom of the units, which can influent bending deformation of the units, thereby the mechanical model can more realistically reflect the actual forces in the curved section of the units. After the establishment of mechanics model, through the necessarily simplify and approximate, establishes the system of computer simulation model.The simulation software, which is based on the platform of VC++ and uses the 3D modeling technology of OpenGL, has realized the sidewall and crew of 3D model establishment quickly. So a three-dimensional visual simulation environment is established, the stress state and stress distribution of electric submersible pump unit in the curved section are analyzed and calculated, and three-dimensional animation simulation crossing the curved section of the unit is implemented. With the application of simulation software, it can calculate the bending sections biggest dog legs degrees of different series of units in circumstance of a given size of casing, for construction provides a important basis.
