Firecracker is one kind of Chinese own traditional things. For a long time, the automatization of its production is in a low level, particularly to filling process which directly contacts with gunpowder and is very dangerous, filling works are most finished by hand, this could hardly guarantee the quality of firecrackers, ensure the security in filling process and could not achieve large-scale production. According to these problems, this paper will introduce the research and design process of an automatic filling system.With analyzing the characteristics of gunpowder and filling course, the issue innovatively devises a closed-end and multi-level vibration automatic filling mechanism, the mechanism improves filling efficiency obviously, simultaneously ensures the firecracker quality and filling security. On the basis of the mechanism, constructing the hardware circuit with using the LPC2210 as the central controlling chip which belongs to ARM7 series, devising the automatic control circuit of the filling action reasonably, monitoring the filling environment with the sensor monitoring circuit in real time, transmitting the monitored data to PC through the ethernet. Develops the control software of the automatic filling system with setting multitask RTOSμC/OS-II as core of the system, bonding the motion control task, security monitoring task and network service task in a rational union, making manipulators monitor filling condition timely with the human-computer interface. Finally, accomplishing the design of the automatic filling system with the characteristics of high efficiency and security.Debugging the control software in the constructed circuit, it turns out that the designed filling system could meet and satisfy the requirements of the filling system.
