The Baotou City is loeated in west part of The Ifmer Mongolia Authority Region, which is the biggest in dustrial city in Inner Mongolia Anthority Regionandan important in dustrial base of north west region in China. In recent years, the in dustrial structure of the city dominates with mechanical engineering, steel and metallurgy, coalifieation and high and new-technology in dustries. Air quality of Baotou City is influenced by industrial pollution and fuel combustion. As a result, many pollutants in the air are charaeterized by differents patial distributions and time effects. Based on the static environmental monitoring data and antomatic monitoring data, the spatial distributions and time effects of dust fall, sulfate, fluorid, nitrogen and inhultant partieulates were analyzed in this study, and the eomparison is made between the monitoring data and national standards. The study also presents many advices for the air pollution prevention work in Baotou City. The study provides basie data and theoretical according for the environmental management and decision-making, which is of great importance for environmental protection of the Baotou City. The main results of this paper are as follows:1,During the "eleventh five-year" period, choosing the monitoring of respirable particulate matter, dust, nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, the rate of sulfate as the ambient air quality assessment factor, the results show that air pollution in the city overall is getting better.2,Choosing the 75,90 and 95 percentile as the urban air environment is "dirty", and the 5,10 and 25 percentile as the urban air environment is "clean", and the 50 percentile and the average is "typical", the result shows that the measured values of the "dirty" "clean" and "typical" are decline, as well as the concentration of various pollutants in urban air is getting better year by year.3,Monitoring the sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide during the non-heating period in August 6 in 2010 and heating period in February 25 in 2010, the statistical results showed that the double peak of the concentration of sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide are 7:00-9:00AM and 18:00-00:00 PM in the non-heating period; the double peak of the concentration of sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide are singnificantly higher in the heating period, 8:00-11:00AM and 19:00-21:00 PM. The flutuation range of sulfur dioxide and carbon monoxide in heating period is singnificantly higher than that in non-heating period. Diurnal variation of pollutants in the city reflects the typical smoke pollution characteristics in winter.4,The result about the time effects of months mean concentration of dioxide nitrogendioxid and sulfate in Baotou city in 2010 indicated that,the trend of the months mean concentration of sulfate concents is relatively unstable, but the months mean value curve appears to be Inverted parabola,that means from Janaury come down as the weather warming, the lowest value appears before or after July and Augest,then rise gradually as the weather is cold,the highest value appears in December,the value is obviously higher in heating peroid than non-heating peroid.The months mean value curve of the dust and the inhultant particulate have the above characteristics,besides that the highest value appears in March to May.5,Considering the Baotou air environmental pollution during the "eleventh five-year" period, the related prevention and control of pollution measure proposal were given.
