"Bookish"is a traditional Chinese aesthetic concepts, nearly three decades of reform and opening up all areas of our country by a foreign culture, the design community is no exception. China's modern design has undergone enormous changes. Chinese traditional culture has been the impact of advanced cultural thought, for a time regardless of the designer or the public are driven by curiosity to look up on a foreign culture, inadvertently overlooked features of the national culture. Now chasing the advertising market and business interests benefit the larger environment, so that books have been gradually let go of cultural property, but the book as a spiritual commodity, the market decided that it should be different from the significance of the existence of other commodities, which we to rethink traditional Chinese culture in the development of modern book design there is no context of survival value.In this paper, the Chinese traditional culture of "gas" of doctrine as a starting point, try to answer what is"Bookish", and systematically elaborated full of"Bookish"the spirit of the art of book binding and represent the national culture is one of the characteristics of art forms.
