Polynary iodides possess a very diverse and interesting structure chemistry and exhibit useful physical and chemical properties which have potential applications in modern technologies, and its synthesis is becoming an active area of solid state chemistry.In the synthesis, we explore solution synthesis of new iodides with novel structures and properities with an aim to enrich the iodide structures chemistry, and develop effective synthesis routes.Thesis carry out the research work of polynary iodides synthesis by transition-metal cations as templates, the important effect factors of the synthesis such as the starting materials and ratios of the reactants, solvents, temperature have been studied in detail. A variety of different coordination cations are formed by changing different chelating organic amines and tansition-metal cations.Several new polynary iodides templated by such cations have been obtained successfully. Their crystal structures have been determined from single-crystal X-Ray diffraction data and further characterized by the XRD, TGA, FT-IR spectrum, Uv-Vis spectrum.Compound [Cd(C4H13N3)2]3Ag7I13(1)crystallizes in hexagonal crystal system and P-3 space group.a=b=20.282A, c=10.624A,α=β=90.00°,γ=120°, Z=1. The crystal structure consists of [Ag7I13]6- anion cluster and [Cd(C4H13N3)2]2+cations.Compound [Cd(C4H13N3)2]2Ag2l6(2) crystallizes in monoclinic crystal system and P2(1)/c space group.a=18.813A, b=13.297A, c=18.435A,α=γ=90°,β=117.95°, Z= 30.The crystal structure consists of dimmer [Ag2I6]4- anion cluster and [Cd(C4H13N3)2]2+ cations.Compound {[Cu(C3H10N2)2]Ag2l4}n(3)crystallizes in triclinic crystal system and PI space group. a=7.2163A, b=8.7197A, c=9.0155A,α=108.215°,β=100.232°,γ= 111.789°, Z=4. The crystal structure consists of the [Cu(C3H10N2)2]2+cations and infinite 1D [Ag2I4]n2- chain.Compound [Cu(C12H8N2)2]2Ag2I6·2DMF(4)crystallizes in triclinic crystal system and PI space group.a=10.5028A,b=11.3012A, c=12.7693A, a=100.146°,β=92.809°,γ=94.464°, Z=10.The crystal structure consists of [Ag2I6]4- anion covalent bonded with [Cu(C12H8N2)2]2+ cations.AgI(7)crystallizes in hexagonal crystal system and P63/mc space group. a=b=4.634A, c=7.574A, a=β= 90°,γ=120°, Z=2.
