The Research On The Design Of The Bamboo Material In The Decoration Of Furniture

Current, in the furniture industry, the timber resources, being used in manufacturing the furniture and the most popular, are growing scarcity. The bamboo may continue to be used forever once be afforested. So the bamboo has become furniture timber to relief the contradictory between supply and demand of the wood with its rich resources, the fine characteristic and the green environmental performance. This issue used the market investigation, collect and coordination information, induction, analytical method and integration sum-up as the research methods. Did a system research on the decorative design of the bamboo material.On the basis of the widespread investigation and the relational reference, I summarized the development trend of the furniture, and studied the current situation of the bamboo decorative design, then obtained the necessity of the bamboo to be used as decorative materials on the furniture, put forwards the study direction of this issue. From the green environmental characteristic, decorative characteristic of the bamboo, I summarized the realizability of the bamboo being used on furniture decorative design.All kinds of the bamboo material have their characteristics, the paper set to study separately the decorative characteristics of the original bamboo furniture, the artificial bamboo board furniture and the other man-made bamboo timber furniture. Then expounded and summarized the decorative characteristics of the bamboo furniture, such as the coloring, the veins, the techniques and so on. Meanwhile, I did the research on the decorative design of the bamboo, and probed the technique of the decorative design of the bamboo. Then unified the already available ways of decorative design to summarize and innovate the technique of the decorative design such as the coloring, the veins, the carving, the inlaying, the painting and so on. All these enabled the bamboo to have a renewed application in the decorative design aspect. Referred to the decorative principle and method of the bamboo craft, and according to summarized the decorative design method of the bamboo of the furniture, aimed at the modernistic and the traditional style furniture to do new products, to combine the theory with the design practice.
