In order to increase the starch slurry on the adhesion of polyester fiber and broaden the scope of application of starch slurry, starch sizing synthetic fibers to achieve all goals. According to similar principles, this paper is the esterification of phthalic anhydride, synthesis of polyester fiber structure with the phthalate similar to starch, to enhance the affinity of starch to polyester fibers and adhesion. The process by semi-solvent method of synthesis of a series of phthalate degree of substitution of starch, the main parameters of the change of a single factor in the impact of esterification of starch, including the reaction temperature, reaction time, catalyst amount and adjacent phthalic anhydride content than the other, and through the infrared spectrum of the prepared starch phthalate esters were characterized. The results showed that starch phthalate degree of substitution and reaction efficiency and reaction conditions are closely related, with the reaction temperature, degree of substitution and reaction efficiency at first increases and then decreases, reaction temperature to 130℃suitable esterification agent addition not only to consider the degree of substitution and reaction efficiency, the same preparation of the actual production cost can not be ignored, balance the various factors controlling the amount of 4% -6%; the reaction time extension of degree of substitution and reaction efficiency at first increases and then decreases, 3h can meet the test requirements, and catalyst content of about 2% of control can be achieved in an ideal catalytic effect.In this paper, slurry viscosity, hot viscosity stability, adhesion properties, tensile strength, elongation, and hairiness index for the evaluation index of phthalate ester degree of substitution of starch and fiber adhesion to the intrinsic link between , the initial size of the degree of substitution on the properties of performance and sizing, simultaneous starch phthalate esters and oxidized starch, starch acetate polyester fiber sizing for comparative experiments. The results show that the phthalate esters of starch slurry performance and sizing performance than the oxidation of starch and starch acetate. Phthalate esters of starch to improve the adhesion of starch to polyester fibers performance and the performance and sizing performance of the slurry also increases with the degree of substitution of different degrees. In this study, the degree of substitution of 0.032 obtained the best performance when the sizing can be a very good sizing of polyester fiber.
