Health preservation is a word full of Chinese cultures. It can be defined as fostering vital force and preserving life. It is a way of defending the disease and preserving longevity. It also shows the conception to the life of Chinese people. With the development of society and the improvement of times, among many ways of health preservation, eating and drinking the health preserving things has gradually become the most popular one. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the cultural value of the health preserving food by understanding the cultural intension of the food and explanation of the cultural factors; combining the development of health preserving food in ancient documents. To point against the phenomenon of production and sales of health preserving food in current market,we propose an overall thinking of health preserving food. Moreover, by combining the traditional culture of health preservation with new science technology nowadays, we can raise the development of civilization of human health preserving food value guidance.The introduction mainly analyzes the present condition of the research on the food culture and the significance of the thesis. The main text is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is analyzing the cultural intension of the health preserving food, conceptually define the health preserving food, concluding the range and species of the food and bringing forward the significance of the research on the culture of the health preserving food. The second chapter is about the cultural foundation of the food which we prove from the cultural sense between the traditional health preserving food and temporary health preserving food. The third chapter is mainly about the cultural value of the health preserving food, which concludes the cultural value into three aspects:the vital value, the science oriented value and the spiritual value. The fourth chapter is discussing about the discovery and the return:of health preservation's value, appealing for the ecological harmony of health preserving food, and viewing the prospects of the development of health preserving food in the future.Via the research on the cultural value of the health preserving food, referring to the life and health perception, we explain the value of the food by scientific views to establish the proper axiology for the productive practice. Meanwhile, we appeal for the ecological harmony of health preserving food, appeal for the logos return of cultural value.For the production,sales and enjoyment of health preserving food on the background of scientific development,we combine the traditional health preserving culture with the advanced science technology for a better promotion in thoughts,to make the human health preserving food's civilization growing steadily.
