Research And Development Of Life Cycle Assessment System For Typical Packaging

Environmental concerns for packaging are getting more attention recently. Life Cycle Assessment(LCA)is applying to packaging area,such as green packaging design, evaluation criterion making, packaging waste management,and becoming a method and tool to solve Environmental concerns for packaging.This paper summarizes status quo of LCA research and application in domestic and overseas packaging area, LCA database and software.A life cycle assessment system for typical packaging was developed,based on key theory methods research of packaging life cycle assessment and LCA system sofeware for packaging.Several key theory methods of packaging life cycle assessment,such as life cycle inventory data collection, treatment and life cycle impact assessment model are discussed in this paper. According to development tendency of LCA software, network topology of LCA system database based on web was put forward. Under comprehensive consideration in functions and application requirements of LCA software system process, LCA system database architecture and data structure were designed. In order to improve flexibility and reconsitution of system process, mathematical model and information model used for LCA system development were established, based on analysis of relation among system processes and unit process model.Appliation validation was made for functions of the life cycle assessment system for typical packaging,by LCA for corrugated box.The result show that the life cycle assessment system for typical packaging can be used as a helper software tool in LCA research and application of packaging.The software has good performance in popularity and openness,enterprises and individuals can easily make LCA on web by this tool.
