Hoang Lien national park in Vietnam is considered to be one of the richest areas of plant diversity; however, due to the increase of local population, those demands for natural resources have gradually increased. As a result of many years of sustained over exploitation, the environmental and ecological problems are getting more serious day by day.Pa ticipatory environmental management is considered to be an important tool and the driving force for environmental management. For this reason, we conducted a survey about the environmental situation using participatory method in Hoang Lien National Park of Viet Nam and probed into the realizations of Eco-Environmental Participatory Management in local region. The results showed that the incomes of local residents are mainly from agriculture and forestry. Among them, the incomes of wealthy families are mainly from agriculture, while the poor households are mostly derived from the forest, the general households are in the middle. The cultivated-lands' quality is becoming worse year by year. From 1986 to the present, water quantity and quality has experienced a gradual improvement. There are some contradictions between Hoang Lien managers and local residents in Hoang Lien national park. Due to the contradiction between the demand and supply of resources, along with cultural differences among all minority people, while local residents have poor awareness on environment, so that the management of ecological environment faced enormous challenges in Hoang Lien national park. The primary problem for the realizations of Eco-Environmental Participatory Management in local region is to solve the management rights of ecological environment.
