| The cutting tools are an important part of manufacturing system and it has a great effect on the geometry shape, dimensional precision and processing cost. Because of the diversity of cutting tools,it is of great importance that we develop such a management system which can recommend the appropriate cutting tools according to the material of workpiece, machining precision ,heat processing and make a quick and accurate prediction of the life of cutting tools.The paper mainly make some research on the technique of intelligent recommendation and cutting tool management based on the feature ,the main contents are as follows:(1) For the importance of the tool information in industrial manufacturing, this paper establishes the cutting tool information and it also presents the system's framework and function models.(2) A cutting tool information model and process feature information model of the part are established by using feature modeling technology, which can be used to describe the feature information of cutting tools and process feature information of the parts.(3) The technology on selecting cutting tools by using expert system is discussed in the paper. The users may select cutting tools according to a single condition such as workpiece material, machining precision, or select cutting tools according to several conditions.(4) Because of the defects in the traditional calculating method of tool life,one of the technologies of artificial intelligence-BP Neural Network was introduced and the advanced the genetic algorithm was used in optimizing the initial weights of BP Neural Network. At last, the model of tool life predicting and parameters optimization were established. |
