The HAZOP analysis technology has been widely used in various fields as a high qualitative risk analysis method since the beginning, and many developed countries have enforced the HAZOP analysis into construction projects by legislation. With the continuous development of this technology, it is necessary to do some quantitative research on the HAZOP analysis.This paper carried out HAZOP analysis on FCC unit of one oil refinery of CNPC, this method can help us analysis the potential risk factors and possible consequences of risks of the system, and provide a reliable basis for safety management. In the process of HAZOP analysis, the author realized that the purely qualitative HAZOP analysis has a lot of the lack. For instance, deviations that used in the process of HAZOP analysis have great ambiguity and uncertainty, such as"flow is high","temperature is low", and the results of HAZOP analysis are lack of the pertinences, can not point out the weak joints and risk rating of the system. These factors have greatly reduced the guide function of HAZOP analysis on job-site, HAZOP quantitative analysis has become the inevitable trend of this method.In this paper, the author studied on the necessity and feasibility of quantitative HAZOP analysis based on the existing quantitative methods both at home and abroad. On the experience of these methods, the author brought a new method to quantitative HAZOP analysis, that is HAZOP process simulation and quantitative analysis method. This paper has done some research mainly from two aspects, one aim is to quantitative the deviation used in HAZOP analysis, combine HAZOP with process simulation and simulate the effects of different grade deviation to the system, use this way to quantitative the deviation; And another aim is to quantitative the results of HAZOP analysis, translate the HAZOP analysis result into FTA, get Probability and consequences of the accident, then we can get the degree of risk. This paper studied the feasibility and reliability of HAZOP process simulation and quantitative analysis method on absorption and stabilization system of the FCC unit.
