According to the environmental problems of dealing with the cattle manure actuality and current energy emergency, the author tries to make experiment to compress the cattle manure to honeycomb briquette and conducts environmental appraisal on its combustion. In the laboratory, the author mixes the cattle manure and cinder by different percentage(for example : the cattle manure is 10%,20%,30%,40%,50%,60%). Comparing with the standard of China civil honeycomb briquette, the author measures the analysis index of water content, ash content, volatile gas content, solid carbon content, calorific value, total sulfur, diameter, height, bore count, bore path, heavy etc. According to the standard of public honeycomb coal this paper analyzes the feasibility of mixing the cattle manure and cinder to make honeycomb briquette, choosing the better compression index. Then this paper calculates the discharge of main gases such as carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), sulfur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2). Comparing with the combustion gases of the common whole-coal honeycomb coal, this paper makes an initial environmental appraisal on the combustion of compressed honeycomb coal made by the mixture of cattle manure and cinder. Main conclusions are as follows:(1) It can be seen obviously that dried cattle manure can be used to burn as a kind of biological according to the elementary analysis (C,H,N,S,O), industrial analysis (humidity, ash content, vaporization, fix carbon) and thermal analysis. In research , the author finds that low thermal value of cattle manure is 11.44MJ·kg-1 ,lower than that of coal which is 14.42 MJ·kg-1 , and the sulphur discharged when burning is 0.28%, lower than that of coal being at 0.36%, which means that it is more environment friendly.(2) In the process of compression experiment, the author finds that it is difficult to be compressed if the rate of water higher than 20% or lower than 5%. Based on the comparability of different kinds of compression of water percentage(5%,7%,9%,11%,13%,15%), conclusion can be draw that the appropriate water percentage is about 10%. Theoretically, the percentage of cattle manure should be controlled between 20%~40% .(3) According to GB/T 13593-92, the author makes comparison between the honeycomb briquettes of cattle manure percentage of 10%, 20% and 30%, and analyze the given samples. They are all eligible in shape, height, water percentage and ash, volatility, caloric value, etc.(4) In the process of making mixed honeycomb briquette, the first 5-10mins are the term of burning cattle manure, and then it burns with the coal. Comparative study shows that the higher percentage of cattle manure, the lower ppm of SO2 and NOX.As a whole, from the aspect of environmental pollution by combustion, the addition of cattle manure to honeycomb briquette is very helpful.(5) In conclusion, cattle manure can be added to the honeycomb briquettes with the percentage of cattle manure at 20% -30%. The mixed honeycomb briquette partly settles the energy crisis and alleviates environmental pollution. Moreover, it's a new approach to use biological resource of cattle manure, which is of practical significance in promotion and popularization of the mixed briquettes.
