Drum mixer is one of the four machines in common use in the sintering plants. Larger drum mixer generally is drove by gear and ring gear and the cylinder is supported by two groups of metal roller,drum mixer of this type is good at transmission power and has a long life,but the vibration and noise caused by drum mixer of this type is so serious that leads to foundation cracks and sinks.The mixing and bailing process of materials is described,and three forms movement of materials in the drum mixer is analyzed.The factors of the mixing and bailing process are introduced.The forces of the drum mixer that is drove by gear and ring gear and which cylinder is supported by two groups of metal roller is analyzed in the radial direction of cylinder.Formulas about composition of stress which cylinder forced on the metal rollers on both sides of cylinder are derived.Then the forces of the drum mixer are analyzed in the axial direction of cylinder,the stress forced on the four metal rollers are calculated.Though the above forces are analyzed,a conclusion that the metal rollers and the rolling circles are worn uneven is given.As the tolerances that the cylindrical shell and ring gear have while are manufactured and installed,shell deformation,uneven wear of the supported metal rollers and rolling circles,wear of gear ring and gear,and unequal sinking of cement foundation cause that cylinder's rotary center isn't cylinder's geometric center,and the eccentric materials in the cylinder makes mixer vibrate abnormally.The metal rollers' layout is optimized,so that the four metal rollers have a reasonable share of the pressure.The lubrication system and metal rollers and block wheel devices are improved appropriately,in order to reducing the wear of rollers and rolling circles and avoiding the uneven wear of supported rollers and rolling circles.
