| Mixing of powder material which will directly determine the quality of industrialproducts is a very important process in industrial production. In this paper, the mixing processof iron concentrate and bentonite powder material with various structure parameters of thestrong mixer is simulated. The correlation between structure parameter of the strong mixerand mixed uniformity which used for the design and improvement of mixing equipment isdiscussed. The main research contents are summarized as follows:Firstly, the mixed characteristic of powder material is analyzed, and the style of mixingis summarized. The structure and operating principle of the strong mixer is discussed, and themechanism of movement and mixture of powder material in the strong mixer is analyzed.Furthermore, the mechanism of movement and mixture of powder material is verified byFLUENT.Secondly, the grain contact model of iron concentrate and bentonite powder material inthe mixing process is built based on the microcosmic characteristic of powder material. Thesphere contact theory and the characteristic of the soft ball model and the hard ball model areanalyzed, and the soft ball model is used to the DEM. With the limit of the computer on thecurrent not be satisfied with the large scale DEM computation, the EDEM model of betweenthe strong mixer and powder material is built based on the similarity theory, which make thesimulation of mixing of powder material possible.Thirdly, aiming at the key structure parameters like the blade rotation speed, blade angleand so on, the simulation experiments based on EDEM is designed, and the mixed uniformityof the simulation experiment is calculated. The influence of the key structure parameters onthe mixing performance is obtained by analyzing the mixed uniformity, and the methods ofimproving the structure parameters are summarized. |
