The Research On Hot Wax Technology And Decoration Of Furniture

This paper mainly researched on two contents below:the furniture waxing technology and decorative effect.Hot wax technology is a traditional Chinese treatment on furniture surface, and it was inherited by the way of apprenticeship from Ming and Oing Dynasties,less written and researched deeply.The study on the hot wax technology in-depth will enhance the reasonableness of modern production and practice.The technical requirements on each craft step will provide a convenient condition to master this technology and test the product quality for workers.Through comparing the decorative effects of the hot wax treatment and transparent coating,we can fully understand the decorative features,and use it better in practice.In the hot wax technology research,the orthogonal test was used to measure five indicators below:surface roughness,gloss,wood texture,wear resistance and water repellency. And on this process,six factors influencing hot wax technology high were selected including: the size of rough grinding paper,the levigation mater temperature,the size of dry grinding paper,volume of hot wax,the time of hot wax,baking temperature.Through comprehensive analysis,the optimized process was determined and the results were verified by experiments. In the decoration effect study,the decorative effects of hot wax technology and the scope of application were discussed in-depth by comparing the visual physical volume,visual psychological volume,and sense of psychological volume between the hot wax and transparent coating treatments.Research shows that:on the surface treatment processing,the size of rough grinding paper impacts on the surface roughness notably and the size of dry grinding paper impact on the gloss significantly;on the hot wax processing,the volume of hot wax impacts on the surface roughness and gloss obviously and the volume of hot wax,the time of hot wax and baking temperature all have no notable influence on the wood texture,wear resistance and water repellency.In addition,the substrate polishing characters can decrease the degree of surface roughness five times lower,nearly reaching the basic requirements of hot wax.And the hot wax can increase the gloss degree effectively nearly 20～60 times,which can make the wood looked like satin.The hot wax technology can make the substrate texture from the thin one to the thicker,from the weak one to the stronger,and some weak textures or the hidden ones are all improved by the hot wax treatments.The water repeUency of the wood surface enhanced obviously after the hot wax treatments,to a certain extent,it can resist the disadvantage influences from the external environments such as the change of dry and wet.The hot wax technology has a more retention of the original wood color than the transparent coating,and to some extent makes the color more vivid,then further highlight the beauty of wood texture.The gloss degression change of wood surface after hot wax treatments is close to the dark transparent coating,showing a soft shiny and having no the characters of high gloss.The enhanced ability of hot wax treatment to the wood texture is lower than light transparent coating,but far greater than the dark one.After hot wax treatments,the visual psychological feelings such as warm,gentle and meticulous touch can be obtained and effectively avoid some uncomfortable senses such as viscous,chilled,plastic and rough feelings.To certain extent,the pressure of touching can be obtained,but maybe lack of the sense of cool and smooth.
