With the rapid development of micro-computer technology, embedded system, and integrated circuits,research on open NC system has became hot-spot. Developing the NC system based on embedded technology will have the advantages of small size,high-efficiency,low cost,high control precision,etc. So NC system based on embedded technology abundant appearanced.In this paper,on the foundation of NC-reformation home and aboard and in support of actual project,we applied the embedded technology to a specific reformation of Two-head lathe.This design improved productivity and reduced the cost of equipment reformation.First in this paper we made electrical and mechanical reformation for YX-C46-SK based on GSK980 TD.Then we designed hardware platform of embedded numerical control system based on embedded processor chip ARM -S3C2410 and DSP -MCX314AL and introduces the process of developing system software. Finally wrote the MCX314AL's driver under the embedded Linux operating system,wrote line interpolation and circular interpolation program,design embeded system GUI under Eclipse. Linux operating system can deal with multitask well moreover satisfy the real-time and reliability of movement control. It can be sure that embeded technology is the direction of the future development.
