In this paper, ethylamine hydroxyethyl chitosan (EHCs), N,O-carboxymethylated chitosan (N,O-CMCs) and O-carboxymethylated chitosan (O-CMCs) were prepared and the synthesis methods were improved. Their physical and chemical properties were analyzed systematically. The spinning solutions and films of the derivatives with viscose rayon (VR) were prepared, and the O-CMCs/VR compound spinning solution was spinned to fiber textile for its antibacterial activity, followed with intensively microstructure study. The rheological behavior of the spinning solutions and the effect caused by the addition of chitosan derivative in viscose rayon solution was discussed; the microstructure, dispersion status, thermodynamics transition, crystallinity and mechanical property of the three chitosan derivatives/viscose rayon compound films were studied. The results indicates that all the chitosan derivatives/viscose rayon compound spinning solutions are Newton Fluid with the same fluid properties at low shear rate as the former viscose rayon solution. The addition of the chitosan derivatives to the solution decreased the viscosity and increased the spin abilities. O-CMCs disperses in the continuous phase of the fiber homogeneously, without influencing the thermodynamic transition temperature and thermodynamics stability of the viscose rayon. The addition of the chitosan derivatives into the compound films decreases the crystallinity a little; the microcosmic survey and thermodynamics analysis shows that they have good compatibility. The tested antibacterial activities of all the compound fibers are good and the properties achieve the corresponding national standards.
