Study On Ecological Water Demand Of Nan Dagang Wetland

Wetland is one of the most important ecosystems on the earth. It is an ecological landscape with the richest bio-diversity in nature and the most important natural resource that people depending on. Water is the important factor for existence and development of wetland, it plays a decisive role during the formation,development and evolution of wetland's ecosystem. When the quantity of water changes under the influence of the natural condition and people's activities, it will cause the other environmental factors to change, and the whole ecosystem, the original structure of the ecological communities and the wetland's functions will be impacted or changed. So it is very important for the wetland's research that how to distribute the water resources effectively and support the water appropriately while we protect the water of production and living.This paper is based on two subjects: One is"Research on the Ecological Water Demand of Natural Wetland in Hebei Province"of Office of Water Resources of Hebei province, the other is"Studies on the Structure,Function and Protection of Nan Dagang Wetland Natural Ecosystem"of Hebei province found topic .On the basis of learning the research of background of wetland, this paper analyzes the developments of ecological water demand around the world and takes an analysis among related concepts. Then it sums up the calculation method of ecological water demand of natural wetland. Using GIS and RS technology, the paper analyzes the present situation and the ecological security issues of Nan Dagang wetland and calculates the threshold of ecological water demand of the core area.The conclusion indicates that the suitable quantity of ecological water demand is from 133 millions m3 to 199 millions m3. It can be judged from the current situation of water resources that Nan Dagang wetland is lack of water seriously. It will not reach the quantity of the wetland needs of wetland only depending on the water supported itself. Artificial water is needed for Nan Dagang wetland to maintain its existence and development.In order to play the ecological functions of Nan Dagang wetland better and maintain the stability and development of the wetland, the paper gives some protection measures and recommendations about the ecological water use of Nan Dagang wetland in economic,technical,and management to solve the problem of water shortage.The conclusion of the research supports a theoretical foundation and number basis for the managers of Nan Dagang wetland in water resources planning and allocation.
