Modern processing technology is developing in a high speed and precision and environment friendly way. Superhard cutting tools are becoming more and more important in modern processing technology due to its particular performance. A large number of experiments and cutting data have been accumulated by workers in the world, but there are little works used this tool in our country because of lacking related technical information.It delays the step of cutting technology. Based on the background mentioned above, we decided the target of retrievement and management of multipul information on Superhard cutting tool exploited by Web technology, retrieval technology and multimedia database technology. We make Web-based information retrieval system for Superhard cutting tools in order to choose and use Superhard cutting tool reasonable.The feasibility analysis on using Superhard cutting tool reasonable was introduced by Web technology and retrieval technology in this paper, a detail analysis on the relationship between the performance of Superhard cutting tools, geometry parameters and cutting parameters was given at next step. The independence copyright of Web-based information retrieval system for Superhard cutting tools was explored based on the technology of Web, retrieval, multimedia and Active Server Page. The system has abroad functions include inquire about the machining information of Superhard cutting tools such as appropriate cutting parameter and geometry parameters.The system achievs the function of data circulates between users and database with Internet. Moreover, the saving-format of data of mutilmedia changed in order to undertaking the stability of the system and raise the speed of searching data.The system stable and operate convenient and large information capacity.
