| Wetland, the lung of nature, called Three Ecoystems together with forest and ocean, is the special ecosystem with several functions. Wetlands of Dalian, enrich and diverse, habitat of the Northeast Asia Aves migrate, have important ecology and environment values. But there is little basic data of Dalian wetlands, the research, using RS technology to investigate and analyze the changes of Dalian wetlands, providing basis to protect and use wetland reasonably, has important theory and actual values.Based on the pretreatment processes, the research deals the landsat-7 data, 2000 and 2006, with unsupervised classification, supervised classification together with manually classification, before creates a map of wetlands distribution using ArcGIS. Chart with isobath is used to cooperate the resolution of RS, in order to solve the key point how to pick-up the data of coast wetlands and seashore wetlands. At last, the research analyzes the results of wetlands classification and three impotant regions, and provides some ways to better use and protect the wetlands of Dalian..The results expresse that: The total wetland areas of Dalian decreased 97.62 km~2 in 6 years. The fact, a lot of paddy fields being transformed to non-wetlands whose total areas are 105.18 km~2, is the main reason of wetlands decrease. The increase of salt fields, breed fields and the projects of creating lands from sea decreases 89.11 km~2 coast wetlands and marsh. In those three important regions, except the region in the Coast of the Yellow Sea, the wetlands especially the natural wetlands decrease highly in both of the other two regions. That destroys the habitats of many cherish wild Aves deeply and brings disaster to ecoenvironment. It is the methods to use wetland resources continuelly that protecting the coast wetlands and marsh on the seaside and the regions full of waterfowl, funding the typical regions to use wetland reasonably, curing, repairing and refunding the coast wetland ecosystems.
