There are great casualties and heavier economic loss caused by fires. Not only peoples' daily life is affected but also economic development and social stabilization is badly shaked by the severe fires. Thus, it is always the focus of fire protection to expertise all over the world.Being the country machine, jails almost have the same history as the countries. Jail witnesses the civilization steps, and also the development of regime of human beings. As a kind of special construction, more atentions have been paid to the matters, such as fire protection. This paper analyses the general situation of the fair in prison. The fire protection of a certain prison is mentioned as a model. The hazard caused by fires in prison is included in the dissertation. The conception of jail construction and the situation of the prison fire protection is also present in the paper. The significance of this dissertation is to reduce casualties in fires and protect social stabilization and keep sustaining development of social economy through the study on fire protection of prison.FTA (Fault Tree Analysis) is used to analyze the origin of the fair, and the account of time for evacuating is included. A series of problems on fire simulation of performance-based fire protection design and assessment of prison are studied. Such as fire load, fire scenarios, heat release rate and smoke evacuation. The fire development model-FDS (Fire Dynamics Simulator) is used to simulate the fire of the jail. The result of the simulation is contrasted with evacuation time. From the contrast, a great risk of fire can be shown in the jail architecture.Through the research we can gain some conclusion, and the suggestion can also be made to the fire protection of prison.
