With the development of the science and technology, the product homogenization phenomenon appears. Industrial design has become an important method to enhance products' competence. In the industrial design, visual correlation factor is a key point in product innovation design.The product design based on visual system and visual psychology theory is to use theories of engineering esthetics,semiotics,chromatics,morphologic,psychology and human engineering at the premise of satisfying the technique and function design, to carry a unified plan to the product. The theory entrusted with the product by the humanities factor and the emotion factor, attaining perfection and unity of the form and the contents of the products, in order to meet the material and motion needs of consumers.This paper studies the general design, method and procedure about the product based on the visual system and visual psychology theory. And propose three stages of product design. First, it is user analysis research. Study the user with the method of combining the market research factors related to product design and analysis of post-productions differential semantic cognition, and the result provides the basis for the product design. Next, design creativity. Taking the user analysis research result as the basis, unit the vision system and the visual psychology theory, proposes the creativity design proposal using the creativity design knowledge. Finally, carries on the design proposal user appraisal. The appraisal group is composed by the user, and use the method which the rational appraisal and the intuition appraisal unifies to complete the appraisal about the design proposal. The final appraisal opinion is available in to the revision of the design proposal.The paper initially study the household-pot by combining the market research of factors related to product design and analysis of post-productions semantic difference. Taking the visual system and the visual psychology theory as a foundation, taking the user value orientation analysis research result as the basis, proposed two design proposals .Finally, the evaluation was made by a group including users and marketing people. The appraisal result had proven that the method of household cooking utensils design based on the visual system and the visual psychology theory is feasible and suitable. Product design based on visual system and visual psychology is very important to solve the visual correlation aspect problem in the modern product design, and it is an effective method for product development, especially for household electric appliances development.
