Abstract: Chemiluminescence (CL) was defined as electromagnetic (ultraviolet, visible or near-infrared) radiation of the reactant, the production or the intermediate as a result of a chemical reaction. The CL analytical method was established based on the moment radiation intensity or the gross radiation quantities. CL is now considered as a very sensitive analytical method and applied to different fields such as life sciences, geological analysis, pharmacology, clinical medicine, environmental detection and molecular biology etc. because of its high sensitivity, low detection limits, wide linear ranges, simple measure device and apt to realize automation advantage. In recent years, Lv etc. reported that a new chemiluminescence reaction could be initiated when injecting some substances into reaction mixture after the finish of several CL reactions. The phenomenon was named as post-chemiluminescence (PCL) phenomenon and the corresponding chemiluminescence reaction as post chemiluminescence reaction. This thesis consists of a review and a research section. In the review, the chemiluminescence systems in which Ce(IV) was used as the oxidant were summarized. And that the review gave emphasis on the chemiluminescence mechanism and analytical application of several main reaction styles. The research gave a presentation of the PCL behaviors of sulpiride, cloperastine hydrochloride and atropine sulfate in Ce(IV)-Na2SO3 system. Chemiluminescence mechanisms were investigated detailedly. Feasibility to use the phenomena to the analysis of these medicines was evaluated and the correlative analytical parameters were also given. The flow-injection PCL analytical method of sulpiride, cloperastine hydrochloride and atropine sulfate was established. The research section includes four parts. In part one, a new PCL reaction was observed when sulpiride was injected into the reaction mixture after the finish of chemiluminescence (CL) reaction of Ce(IV) and sodium sulfite. The possible mechanism for the PCL reaction was discussed via the studies of the CL kinetic characteristics, the CL spectra, the UV absorption spectra and the fluorescence spectra of some related substances or reactions. The flow injection PCL method for the determination of sulpiride was established. The relative standard deviation (RSD) for the determination of sulpiride was 1.6% (n=11, c=1.0×10-6g/mL). The PCL intensity...
