In this paper a kind of machine-electrochemistry method with a new wire-combined tool has been studied. During the period, the essential theory of the machine-electrochemistry method has been analysed. The systemic model has been established. Base on this, a kind of new wire-combined tool had been developed, the test equipment has been designed and built up, and an investigation has been made into the polishing and cutting feasibility of hard materials when the new machine-electrochemistry method is adopted.First of all, the essential theory of the machine-electrochemistry method has been analysed, and the systemic model has been established.Secondly, a kind of new wire-combined tool had been developed, This new tool is made up with the inner electrode and the external helical abrasives. The new structure of this wire-combined tool produces screwy effects of electrochemistry and grind through the movement of turning. This new kind of tool has been used to polish some kinds of hard materials such as Die Steel , Stainless Steel and Hard Alloy.Thirdly, the test equipment has been designed and built up by the refit of a WEDM-HS machine and a drilling machine. The circle system, worktable and feed control system of WEDM-HS machine, and the turning system of the drilling machine have been arranged in pairs or groups.Finally large numbers of test has bee developed. On one hand, This new kind of tool has been used to polish some kinds of hard materialssuch as Die Steel , Stainless Steel and Hard Alloy. After machining, the surface quality and mechanical performance of the specimens are studied. The experimental results show that this Machine-electrochemistry method can improve the surface roughness and decrease surface cracks greatly. In additional, there are no wastage of the tool that can be founded during the process. Finally an orthogonal design is adopted to optimize the process parameters so as to obtain the best integrative result. The experiment reveals that it is a feasible and effective polish method for improving the surface integrity of hard materials. On the other hand an investigation has been made into and cutting feasibility of materials when the new machine-electrochemistry method is adopted. And the wastage of the tool has bee studied too.In the papar, machine-electrochemistry method with a new wire-combined tool has been studied,a kind of new wire-combined tool had been developed and large numbers of test of this method has bee developed. The fact shows that this method is not only feasible but also effectual.
