The Solution Of LPG Desulfurization In Jinxi Petrochemical Company

The sulfur contained in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has some harmful influenceson the environment, human health and the consequence chemical processes of LPG.With the increasing consciousness of environments protection, the LPG desulfurizationhas been received great attention in resent years. In the paper, the research program ofthe LPG desulfurization unit, the desulfurization method and technology have beenreviewed. Combining with the desulfurization principles, process flow, mixingregeneration flow of the two LPG desulfurization sets, the feedstock properties and theproduction quality in Jinxi petrochemical company (Jinxi PC C), the reason forcontaining high sulfur degree in LPG and the mechanism of the copper corrosion byLPG have been analyzed, and the factors of the LPG unqualification owing to copperstrip corrosion have been pointed out.With the deeper analysis of the desulfurization status of the two installations in JinxiPC C, the way to solve the desulfurization problems of LPG is found out. By thenone-alkali combining process flow, the desulfurization of the LPG from Jinxi PC C hasbeen investigated. The results show that adopting the procedure composed of threefixed-beds that are the COS hydrolyzer, fine-desulfurizer, mercaptan catalyzer in series,namely JX-6B+JX-2B+JX-2A, to replace that of the pre-alki washing after LPGalcohol amine washing and Merox methods of de-mercaptan, the remaining H2S andCOS have been removed from the LPG and the mercaptan has been transformed in thefixed-beds. So the desulfurization process has been simplified and the waste causticresidue has been eliminated. Consideration of the specific conditions of the coking,catalytic cracking unit II and III, LPG desulferization unit I and II, and tail gashydrogenation from heavy oil catalytic cracking, a feasible plan has been put forward tosolve the LPG desulfurization and copper strip corrosion problems in Jinxi PC C.
