The application of aluminum alloy wheel-hub replace the steel hubgradually because of it's lightweight, rapid dissipation of heat and gooddamping of vibration. Forge method for aluminum alloy hub is a new formingtechnology , the technology can save more material and light more weight ,so itis necessary to analyses and study all kinds possible defect in forging aluminumalloy hub for the high strength nature of the aluminum alloy hub.The paper establish the forging technology for aluminum alloy hub byanalyzing the forming shape of the aluminum alloy hub parts and applying to dieforging theory rationally. On basis of forging technology, the preforging andfinish forging die for forming the aluminum alloy hub by using 3-D moldmaking software Unigraphics(UG), the model is transfered to Finite Elementsoftware DEFORM, simulation of the forging process by using DEFORM toobtain the velocity field and the strain field in all forming steps. Analyzing theinfluence of gutter size and friction coefficient to forming, getting the stressfield , strain field of the forming parts and so on. Obtaining the general rule ofall forming phrases metal flaw in preforging and finish forging process. At last,test of the preforging and finish forging process is carried out. By comparingand analyzing the testing results and the simulation results, the paper gets theinfluencing factor of the forming defect generation and the improvementmethod.The paper simulate the process of the forging aluminum alloy wheel hubfirstly, then prove the simulation process by putting it to the test. The test resultsand the simulation results are in a good accordance. All the studies provide thereference demonstration for die designing.
