The locking mechanism is a key part of the crank elbow die casting maehine.It drives the moving moulding board to open and lock of the die casting mould, and its structure importantly effect on operating efficiency of the die casting machine, working longevity of the mould, precision and compact degree of the cast and working intensity. So it is necessary of exact modeling and analysis.At first the paper demonstrates FEA theory, and simply introduces CATIA ANSYS and ADAMS. The locking location of the rigid mechanism is computed by using mechanical principle, and then the locking location of the elastic mechanism by using CATIA. The FEA result of CATIA is validated by ANSYS. The model which is imported ADAMS from CATIA is dynamicsanalyzed.The research indicates that design of the locking mechanism of RD400C cold chamber die casting machine inherits the former research fruits, which takes on pressing feasibility and realization. Based on ANSYS, the results which are got from contacting analysis by using submodeling technique are credible. It is explained that when submodeling technique uses in finite element analysis of other similar complicated mechanism, submodling technique makes sure that the results are credible, and it also advances computing efficiency. According to the results from ADAMS dynamics analysis, varieties of the locking force and the force that the several bars are beared are got. We can deduce the most dangerous period of time, and design of the locking mechanism is provided with powerful guarantee.varieties of the locking force and the force that the several bars are beared are got. By usig ADAMS, slow locking and fast locking of the locking mechanism of RD400C cold chamber die casting machine are dynamics simulated, which provide optimal design of the locking mechanism with a gist.
