The clamping mechanism and injection mechanism are primary mechanism in the diecasting machine. Clamping mechanism is used to open and closed the die casting mould in thedie-casting manufacture, and injection mechanism is used to convey and hold liquid metalalloy. Their structure and mechanical strength directly affect on operating efficiency of diecasting machine, quality of die-casting products, so it is necessary to make analysis andresearch on the clamping mechanism and injection mechanism.Key parts of clamping mechanism and injection mechanism are designed with the helpofthe theory of mechanical design in this paper. They were checked by strength. Finite elementmodel of clamping mechanism was established in Solidworks software, and theweight-reduction design is used in stationary platen, moving platen and rear platen. Then thenon-linear contact analysis on clamping mechanism was carried by ANSYS, and the finiteelement analysis was used in tie bar and nut to obtain more accurate stress. Static analysis andtransient dynamic analysis were carried out in the two models of injection mechanism, whichwere established according to the position of injection. At last, clamping force and force ofthree bar were measured by test device of clamping force on the die casting machine, andcompared with the data of finite element analysis and theoretical calculation.Research indicates that parts of clamping mechanism and injection mechanism couldsatisfy the strength requirement. Stress concentration can be produced at the root of the firstfew threads of tie bar and nuts, it is also produced at the step of nuts, and the small endexternal diameter and pitch should be increased appropriately to improve the force of nuts. Then stress of injection mechanism was obtained from FEM when their position of injectionwas up or down. Compared with the theoretical data, the error of experiment and finiteelement analysis is less than20%. And the stress of three bar reflected the stress of screw onnuts indirectly, so that the size and number of screws can be selected in the design.
