| With the rapid development of the computer technology and numerical control technology, the NC machining is more and more important in manufacturing. As a high -additional value and techno-compressing product, the die & mold' s technology level has already become a guideline estimating the national manufacturing. Due to the support of the high-speed developing CAD/CAM software and NC equipment, the complex, special and precise part can be machined in die & mold industry. By way of the preceding technology of die & mold machining, the high-speed NC machining technology adopt the advanced CAD/CAM integration design and manufacture system. Making use of it, we can make graphics alternate automatic NC programming. The method is not only rapid and precise, but also simple and handy.After researching the correlative technology of die & mold and NC machining, we use an kind of integration CAD/CAM software named Cimatronit , to split the die & mold, to design the NC machining process of die & mold with cavity, core and slide. At the same time, we check manually, simulate and verify the NC procedure. In the end, we make post process and output the NC code.Firstly, we introduce the correlative technology of NC and die & mold in the paper, and clarify the essential for the corporation adopting CAD/CAM system to design the die & mold. Secondly, we depict the thought of optimizing NC machining process for the mold cavity, and introduceoptimization strategy such as the cutting manner, cutting tool, tool-path, and machining parameter. Thirdly, we design the NC program of the cavity, core and slide based on analyzing the part. At the end, we make post processing and output the NC code. The details are as follows:1. Learn and develop the Cimatronit software. With studying manual programming, I learn the alternate automatic NC programming of Cimatronit software, know well its function module, master the machining technology, arrange tool-path, as well as set parameter.2. Use the software to split the part. Contrast to the splitting technology based on the CAD system and the splitting technology based on the logic operation, we adopt the Quick-Split technology based on the Cimatronit.3. Optimize the tool-path of the die & mold with cavity. By analyzing the forming tool-path method of die & mold with cavity, we optimize especially the cutting direction, the tool-path of coarse-cutting.4. Optimize the machining parameter for milling process of the die & mold with cavity. We analyze how to optimize the machining parameter, cutting tool, cutting speed, and feed rate based on the Cimatronit.5. Design the process of the die & mold with cavity, core and slide. Explain the method on designing the NC program of the die & mold cavity in detail, as well as the procedure of the die & mold with core and the slide in brief.6. Introduce manual check, simulating and verifying the procedure in machining dies and molds. We adopt manual check, simulating and verifying the NC program for the sake of assuring the validity of the tool-path and avoiding intervene in machining the part.7. Make post processing and output the NC code. We give an example of how to make a post processing and output the NC code . |
