Recent years, China have made great efforts to protect resource and environment. As a useful method for protecting environment, natural reserves attract more people's attention. The number of natural reserves increases rapidly. Natural reserve of aquatic wild animal and plant is an important part in China's natural reserves. But compared with other kinds of natural reserves, however, the natural reserve of aquatic wild animal and plant have some imperfectness, because it is youthful and short of investment. At present, some academicians commence appraising the value of other natural reserves, like forest park and everglade. But no study has dealt with natural value appraisement of natural reserve of aquatic wild animal and plant. Based on the condition, the thesis try to conclude the method of value appraisement, and set up a system of value appraisement for natural reserve of aquatic wild animal and plant in China.The thesis analyze the characteristics of the natural reserve of aquatic wild animal and plant firstly. Based on the characteristics, the thesis try to study the elements of value included in this kind of natural reserves. By concluding the appraising method related to natural reserve's value , could select some appraising method fit for China's natural reserve of aquatic wild animal and plant, so as to set up the appraising system and flow.After observed the natural reserve of Yangtze river dolphin at swan continent in Hubei province, the thesis calculate this natural reserve's direct use value, indirect use value and non-use value using the appraising system set up, then the educe appraising result and analyze it.When appraising this natural reserve's value, 1 find out that the value of China's natural reserve of aquatic wild animal and plant mainly contains indirect use value expressing zoological function, bequest value in protecting rare species and zoological equilibrium and existence value. So more attention should be paid to this two aspects of value when extending the method system.The primary contribution of this thesis is: analyze the feasibility of every appraising method for China's natural reserve of aquatic wild animal and plant and how to bring them into effect; Try to set up a method system for appraising natural reserve of aquatic wild animal and plant's value for the first time. And provide some suggestions about how to extend the system in China's natural reserve of aquatic wild animal and plant.
