With the development of scientific, the machining accuracy of the electromechanical equipment has already required the precision of micrometer ,even nanometer. Because of the precision of the transmission and controller, the common machine tools have not the ability to reach that accuracy. So we could adapt a high accuracy system, the Micro-Positioning system for secondary feed. This paper has introduced a new micro-positioning control system using PZT for high precision machining. The functions of this system include measure, compensate, drive, etc.This control system is based on the converse piezoelectricity domino effect of the Piezoelectric Ceramic Actuator. It was a closed-loop system, so we could suppress the sluggishness, non-linearity and creep effect of the Piezoelectric Ceramic Actuator. Thus realized the high precise micro-positioning.The researches include:1 The overall design about the micro-positioning system, disposing and choosing of each composition part of this system, including the micro-positioning structure driven by thepiezoelectric ceramic, the supply power ,the inductance micrometer , A/D conversion module , D/A conversion module , interface module , microprocessor etc..2 The research of the characteristic of the Piezoelectric Ceramic Actuator to supported by the flexible hinge. The design of the experiment for its characteristic as non-linearity, sluggishness , creep effect and analysed the result. The result of probing into the method to improve the displacement output linearization and dispel the creep effect.3 The design of the systematic control method include the hardware, the model algorithm and software. In the micro-positioning closed-loop control system, after the keyboard data-in, through the control data model and the datum of feedback, researched the algorithm of controlling , designed the software and hardware, finally achieved the high precise micro-positioning system, which was driven by micro-processor.4 The design of the systematic experiment. The test and analyse of the system. By testing the precision of the system, analysed the reason of the error, perfected the systematic control algorithm further for improving the systematic precision.The micro-positioning control system using PZT for high precision machining had good interface, and could be appliedextensively for high accuracy situation. The experimental result proved that the precision is up to 0.1pm. And the control system had the characteristic of small, reliability, responding fast, flexible with low costs.
