| The synthesis of linear carbon by the method of oxidation-dehydrate and dehydrogenate of PVA was studied in this paper. In the experiment, increasing temperature ,the selection of inert gas and the function of oxygen for the synthesis of the linear carbon was studied. The feasibility of this method was proved. The synthesis of linear carbon by the method of dehydrate and dehydrogenate of PVA become possible because of the crystalloid PVA selected by DSC and XRD. Crystalloid PVA was heated at 2oC or 5oC interval continuously in the oven. The result shows that: dehydrate and dehydrogenate temperature selected at 120 oC,165oC,175oC,200 oC,220 oC,250 oC and one and half hours were favorable. The study of the synthesis of linear carbon by the method of dehydrates and dehydrogenate of PVA was consisted of two aspects: the selection of inert gas and the effect of oxygen. We compared the effect of increasing pressure and reducing pressure, inert gas as dioxide carbon and nitrogen in the tubular furnace experiment. The research work shows that: the better result can be achieved by increasing pressure and using carbon dioxide as inert gas. At the same time, we recognized that oxygen plays an important role in the synthesis of linear carbon by using high pressure reactor. The products of this method was characterized by IR,Raman and XRD and was compared to the β-linear carbon gotten by other methods. A possible mechanism was proposed. |
