At first the distribution of Apocynum venetum in China, use and history, the characteristics of the fibres, the excellent performances of the textiles made by Apocynum venetum, the methods and current situation of degumming are introduced.Then according to GB/T 5889 - 1986" quantitative analytical method of chemical composition of ramie", analyze the chemical composition of Apocynum venetum, and find that Apocynum venetum and other basts have large differences in chemical composition. It contains less cellulose, while its hemicellulose, lignin, and water-soluble waxiness are somewhat more than those of others. So it's hard to degum Apocynum venetum.On the basis above all, analyse the characteristics of the gum and the decomposition course of bacterial degumming, and draw the conclusion that the main targets removed in bacterial degumming are pectin and hemicellulose. And then through studying the principle of bacterial degumming and the course of decomposition, draw the conclusion that aerobic degumming is better than anaerobic degumming. Therefore, aerobe is used to degum for Apocynum venetum in the research.By bought the bacterium and gathered Apocynum venetum and the soil in the field of Apocynum venetum, many bacterium are gained. From these bacterium high-efficient degumming bacterium numbered 036 is gained.After defining bacteria, the factors affecting the bacterial degumming are studied. Initial pH value, bath ratio(the material-to-liquor ratio), temperature, degumming time, rotational speed of oscillator, initial quantity of bacteria and nitric additives are the main factors to Apocynum venetum degumming with aerobe. Through experiments their influences are researched by one by one. Then chose some parameters and optimized by orthogonal experiment. Experimental results showed that the preferred processing parameters are as follows: K2HPO4-3H2O is 0.8g/100ml to make initial pH value above 9.1, bath ratio is 1:25, temperature is a 42 C, time for degumming is about 24h, rotational speed ofoscillator is not lower 150r/min, initial quantity of bacteria is a platform in the solution of 100ml. Nitric additives are unnecessary to add because nitrogen in Apocynum venetum is enough for bacterial degumming.The optimum technology is verified by experiments, which results show that Using this kind of aerobe and adopt these parameters, the residual gum percentage of apocynum venetum can reach about 15%. Then the fibers' chemical composition is analyzed and the results are identical with aforesaid analyse.After bacterial degumming Apocynum venetum is degummed by chemical method. And then test the performance of the fibres of Apocynum venetum. The results show that the method can achieve the goal of degumming.At last utilize electron microscope to analyze microstructure of fibres obtained by different methods of bacterial degumming, biochemical degumming and chemical degumming. The results show that the damage caused by bacterial degumming is less than that of chemical degumming, and bacterial degumming can maintain the fibres's natural characteristics better.
