It is a kind of technical method of speeding up the stamping die design efficiency and improving its design quality that the die design is accomplished by making use of the CAD/CAM system. With progressing of manufacturing informatization, Accordingly, many enterprises all establish CAD/CAM software environment platform, and evident effect is achieved by applying the CAD/CAM software to design, analyze, process, simulate and manufacture the product However, the existing general CAD/CAM systems haven't the functions that carry complete technical handbook datum on stamping die design. Thereby, it affect the efficiency and the quality of mold design that designers still query the datum, choose parameter, and make a copy of the results through the traditional paper tools, and manually choose and input technology parameter. Therefore a great number of technicians urgently need the software version for digitized reference data book relevant to technical resources. In order to promote development of manufacturing informatization and meet technicians' demand in the times of digitization, China Machine Press organizes manpower to develop and publish the digitization handbook.Based on the very same background, in this paper, according to serious analysis and summary of handbook datum on stamping mold design and material mould technology, the software system for digitization stamping die design handbook is developed by the application of modem CAD, database and computer network technology. The main achievements and creative ideas of the paper are as follows:(1) Firstly, it is formulized that the architecture and technical feature of the mould CAD/CAM system and the application of advanced manufacture pattern in the mould domain, in this paper. According to the analysis of international, domestic present study status and development trend, a new idea of digitization of traditional paper reference handbook on stamping die is brought forward, and a new method of mould design-aided based on computer application technology is come through.(2) The argumentation of this project is disserted, and basic development of the informational resources facing the manufacturing informatizaton is discussed in this paper. According to requirement analysis of the stamping die design handbook, the system framework and the functional model map of the digitization stamping die design handbook software are built, and the creation process of system and information flow are illustrated indetail.(3) Aiming at feature of the latest software development technology, the basic conception for the object-oriented technology, software reuse, engineering template, and database technology, and so on, is disserted, and theirs application effect in the development of the system is studied and verified.(4) The principle of nonuniform rational B-spline and its development application is expounded, as well as its development and application platforms are built According to analysis and summary of handbook datum on stamping mold design in our country, aiming at a great deal of existing different line graphics chart, the methods for numerated line graphics, programmed line graphics, and scanning line graphics etc are brought forward and applied.(5) On the basis of the analysis of the principle of the formula analyzer based on XML in detail, the idea of a kind of developing normal formula library in general mechanics design domain is brought forward, and the software system developed can conveniently create sorts of normal formula library for the mechanical, die design, and add, delete, and modify the basic model objects of the formula library to meet the need of different study direction and development of science and technology.
