Research On Eco-City Construction Mode Of Dalian

Nowadays, the process of urbanization is speeding up with the ability of facilitating the development of social politics and economy. However, this process caused a series of issues and crises, such as the continuous extension of the city, the sharp expansion of the urban scale and the unbalance of the urban-rural development. All over the world, most cities, especially the ones of large and medium size are carrying excessive population and modern industries, which consumed massive materials and energy and disposed lots of waste in the limited space of the cities so that the ecological environment of the city and its surroundings. The human load of the nature exceeds the self-purification of the urban eco-environment resulting in the ecological crisis of the city.Since there existed crisis of the urban sustainable development with the increasing economy and the accelerated proceeding of the urbanization, the concept of the eco-city emerged. Meanwhile, in the context of the ecological culture construction and led by the scientific outlook on development of China, the eco-city building is faced with the opportunities and stepping towards the new stage of seeking "circulation and harmonization" The Eco-city planning of Dalian City compiled in 2009 making the strategic idea of "green ridge connected, blue bays surrounded, harmonious environment, harmonious people" and well-known eco-city as future strategic goals.This thesis analyzed patterns and characteristics of Eco-City, based on the analysis of the concept of Eco-City and inner development; It described the theoretical basis and technical methods which is needed in Eco-City construction, and summarized the basic pattern and basic characteristics of Eco-City construction; It analyzed social, economic and environmental aspects of the development status and current problems of Dalian by using SWOT analysis and Eco-City index system. It also compared Dalian's development and current problems with the construction and characteristics of international Eco-City for the sake of recognizing the gap between current status of Dalian City and the model of Eco-City. Then, in order to clarify the correctness of the evaluation results, it compared the results of ecological safety evaluation of Dalian's current status with the results of urban comprehensive index of ecological security evaluation which is adjusted pertinently according to the conclusions of SWOT and ecological city integrated evaluation. At last, the thesis determined the basic mode it can take in Dalian's Eco-City construction.According to the natural resources, environmental status, development potential, the current position of Dalian city, and to its industrial structure, international and domestic development, this thesis proposed and determined a model of Eco-City construction in Dalian, and guided the construction of Dalian from policy level.
