Recently, the environmental problems of mines in China are getting more and more complicated and serious. Geological disasters, such as mined-out collapse, cracks, landslides, mud-rock flows, occur from time to time. Each year, great losses in economy and society have been caused by the damages the landscape in mining area, soil erosion, desertification and water balance. Landslides account for above 68% among all types of geological disasters, which are also the main reason to kill 10 more people among all the geological disasters. Therefore, it's vital to bring the landslides in mines under control. Haizhou open-pit mine has already shut down, yet landslides and other geological disasters have seriously threatened the lives of the residents surrounding and the security of property of the companies there, especially to the securtiy of the Fuxin power plant located on the north bank of Haitian open-pit mine. Moreover, underground water pollution and extensive plant damages have made the regional ecological environment even worse. Thus, it's critical to put the landslides in Haizhou open-pit mine under control. At present, the collapse zones on the brink of the ore pits has been initially reinforced through the first phase of the on-going comprehensive management for Haizhou open-pit mine, and the landslide disasters are mainly targeted in the second phase landslide control. In this thesis, the potential solutions for the second phase of landslide control are discussed, combined with the project management theory and the technology for disaster control, so as to further explore the design and implementation of the landslide control in the second phase. Firstly, the questions are raised, the current situations at home and abroad are analyzed, and research methods are confirmed; secondly, the fundamental theories and requests of project management are introduced; thirdly, the Haizhou open-pit mine and the landslide control project are also introduced; fourthly, the design of the landslide control is discussed, based on the analysis of technical quality, construction progress, project costs and construction security; finally, the potential solutions are put forward in the second phase of landslide control. The implementation scheme of landslide control project in the second phase, and its feasibility and effectiveness may promote this kind of project design and management research.
