Geo-info-spectrum is one of derivatives in"digital earth"period, a response to the calling of"spatial analysis"which depends on advanced implements and coping technologies in the very moment of information explosion. Meanwhile, the standardized, digitalized and relevant well-established information system furnished life and vigor to the traditional geography research. Digital mountain vertical zone spectrum-an important part of geo-info-spectrum-could be considered as kind of spatial information spectrum either. The unique capacity of unravel the law of mountain altitudinal changes diversity to the ultimate, which greatly amplify biology and geography research. Mountain is an intensive place for landscapes, flora and fauna. Therefore, research on mountain altitudinal belts is became enormously significant in respect of mountain land use, ecology system various regulation and the like. Recently, digital mountain recognition system which severely differ from the traditional altitudinal belt one gradually come maturity, which indicate that mountain vertical zone spectrum research enter into a new phase of digital recognition. This paper based on mountain altitudinal belts recognition system, the multi-peaks all round digital recognition algorithm of Zhangbaiping. Working in the computing environment of"the Matlab", apply DEM, vegetation map and direction maps together, further, draw vegetation vertical zone spectrum of Changbai Mountain natural reserve areas, express in matrix, then link the distribution of vegetation with direction, in the aim of putting location item into the system. Moreover, analyzing the established matrix in the order of abnormal region research, correlative analysis of vegetation distribution, height, direction, slope etc. finally, draw the conclusion of geo-feature of intensive growth area of certain kind of vegetations and the cause-effect research in special vegetation area.
