On the basis of summing up the minerogenetic geological conditions and rules, the basic task of mineral resource assessment is to transform the correlative data gained in geological work into mineral resource information, and to evaluate the potential, the exploitability and its commercial value of mineral resources in certain element or section of the lithosphere.The Monte-Carlo method, which is based on the statistical sample theory, is widely applied in the assessment of regional mineral resources. To acquire its approximate solution, the probability simulation and statistical tests of random parameters are made. The Monte-Carlo method has the virtue of being the easiest to implement. It requires little on data precision, and even the data is varied, the amended result can also be obtained without changing the evaluation methodology. We can get the tons of resources in different probability levels and represent its data rules with Monte-Carlo model.This thesis mainly probes how to evaluate the regional ore reserves with the Monte-Carlo model. First, the foundation of predication probability model and the pre-disposal of geological data is discussed. To obtain the tons of resources in different probability levels, we should construct the distillation function of geological variables with the statistical and forecast method, and then carry out the parameter simulation of Monte-Carlo method with the sampling theory (the random number method). On the basis of which, the author of the thesis drawed up the software in.Net Framework, using the Visual Studio 2008, for the mineral resource evaluation. The software, which bears the traits of less input and quick returns, provides the simplest way to evaluate the regional mineral resources.The object of study in this thesis is the assessment of the sum of copper ore in East Tianshan Mountain. Through analyzing the 1:200000 regional geological data and the known information about the deposit, the author built up the ore-forming model of East Tianshan Mountain, then endowed numerical value to the ore-forming factors, and got the favorable coefficient of each prognosis element to ore-forming in application of characteristic analysis method. In the end, the author evaluated the sum of copper ore in East Tianshan Mountain with the software, and finally gained its potential tons of resources. In comparison with the foregone sum of copper ore, the author concludes the summary that the copper ore in East Tianshan Mountain needs further exploration.
