East Tianshan area is an important metallogenic belt of nonferrous metal and precious metal, and also one of the sixteen important metallogenic regions of non-fuel mineral resources in China. There has complete stratum, multiform sedimentary formations, complicated geologic structure, frequent magmatic activities, obvious metamorphosis, long metallogenic history and ascendant mineralization condition. But, it also has relatively lower working density. The exploration breakthroughs have been made in recent National Land and Resources Survey. Tuwu-Yandong porphyry copper deposit and Pobei copper-nickel sulfide deposit, for instance have been found, which foreshows great potential in this area.Based on geodynamics and mineralization series theory, methodology of deposit modeling and mineral resource potential assessment using integrated geological information has been used to predict the unfound recourses of copper and nickel in east Tianshan area. During the research, the all-sided data of geologic, deposits(occurrences), geophysical, geochemical and remote sense have been synthetically analyzed again.Individual databases of mineral resources, geochemical, geophysical, remote sensing, geographic information, DEM and others have been integrated into one integrative database. On the basis of geological research, all kinds of information are explained, which established foundation for target areas delineating and resources estimating.In this paper, metallogenic epoch, geotectonic location, geotectonic evolutionary phase, magmatic formation, magmatic structure, metallogenic structure, metallogenic feature, reserve, aeromagnetic data, gravity data, geochemical data, remote sensing data, prospecting ore clue and etc. were studied, of which the descriptive model and prospecting model have been established.About copper and nickel sulfide deposits related to basic-ultrabasic rocks (Huangshan style), 119 tracts were selected out with 6 of class A, 28 of class B and 113 of class C. Total resource of copper of this style is 3.93 Mt (estimated by areal productivity method) or 4.53 Mt (estimated by grade-tonnage Monte Carlo Simulation method); Total resource of nickel of this style is 5.72 Mt (estimated by areal productivity method) or 4.48 Mt (estimated by grade-tonnage Monte Carlo Simulation method).According to feature of copper and nickel sulfide deposits, descriptive model and grade-tonnage model are studied and rebuilt. The method of estimating numbers of deposits in west area is tested and it seems effective. areal productivity method is improved on and the results predicted is more reseanable.
