Rocky desertification is the most serious geological hazard in Southwest China karst mountain.The result of investigation shows that rocky desertification region become the most inpoverished and the most uncultured area in China.There area several well-rounded model for rocky desertification control after years reserch.One of them is eco-economic model which can combine nature reproduce with economic reproduce quite well,become the most popular model for rocky desertification control.Because of rocky desertification was restricted by many factors,so the ways to control rocky desertification should according to the situation of local environment.The most effective method is to do experiments to find out the best corp through study of result.Most scholar and specialist are focus on experiment, few people pay attention to research of data management.Recent years,the data management system was fell far behind of the technical merit,became one important factor of efficiency decrease. Obviously,it is very essential to build a technically data management system.Design and realization of rocky desertification integrated prevention and control information management system was strictly established in the needs of project,which to degraded ecosystem restration and reconstruction in Chongqing karst mountain region.System mode is C/S,use Visual Basic as further development language based on VB6.0,MapObjects and SQL Server 2000.Link spitial database to attribute database by active data objects.According to user requirement analysis,whole system is divided into five modules:Basic Functions, Information Inquiry, Information Statistics, Information Analysis and Information Output.The latest high-resolution satellite image IKONOS is used as background in rocky desertification integrated prevention and control information management system.This system can shows geological conditions,climatic conditions and human geography conditions of Nanchuan;statistic types of soil,rocky desertification degree and so on;analyse adaptability,ecological benefit and economic benefit of each crop,in order to provide support to decide which crop is the best.In the last part, summarized the design and implementation of the system and indicates the development of the system.
