Attention has been paid on tourmaline because of its spontaneous polarization, pyroelectric, piezoelectric, dielectric, infrared radiation and release negative ions and other characteristics. As the predecessors did not do much research on Lushi lithium tourmaline, and tourmaline from different areas have some differences on internal crystal structure and chemical composition. This paper studied on Lushi tourmaline's crystal structure, morphology, mineral composition, chemical composition, application performance and the changes during heating by using methods such as infrared spectroscopy testing, X-ray diffraction analysis, ICP-MS, chemical analysis, differential thermal analysis, piezoelectric and dielectric testing and infrared radiation rate of testing means. With the contrast studies on Hebei Fuping magnesium tourmaline and Yunnan Gaoligongshan lithium tourmaline, some differences has been found. This paper committed on providing a viable application of Lushi tourmaline.Main components of Lushi lithium tourmaline are SiO2 46.44%, Al2O3 47.53%, followed by NaO 2.17%, contained only trace amounts of Ca, and contain a large number of Li elements which is 0.9119%, followed by Pb, Ga, Sr. Yunnan lithium tourmaline has much higher iron content(3%) than Lushi lithium tourmaline (0.031%). Iron content have some impact on melting point of lithium tourmaline, low melting point, high iron content.Experimental results show that piezoelectric of both ends of the tourmaline crystal better than cylindrical, piezoelectric: magnesium tourmaline> lithium tourmaline. Tourmaline belongs to the low dielectric constant materials, the dielectric constant performance the most stable between 3000HZ-8000HZ. With the frequency increasing, dielectric constant showed a slight decrease; dielectric constant changes in the range of 4-10 (×10-12pf/cm), and dielectric constant of∥C-axis direction is greater than the⊥C axis. The average maximum dielectric constant of Lushi lithium tourmaline is 9.96×10-12pf/cm.Infrared absorption bands of tourmaline corresponding to the wavelength of 9 - 10μm, and the body's absorption wavelength is 9.53μm-9.47μm. The maximum rate of tourmaline infrared emission is 88% from Hebei province. Before 800 oC, Lushi lithium tourmaline infrared radiation rate decreases to 83% minimum after heat treatment.
