On the basis of collecting information and consulting other study, the tourmaline's mineralogical and electromagnetic characters are studied systematically especially the special character of micron-tourmaline, coating titania on micron- tourmaline's surface, the titania's photocatalystic activity will be improved by tourmaline.Tourmaline is a kind of valuable mineral material and it has special character because of polar structure. Our country has rich tourmaline resource. Except using as gems and scientific research equipment parts, large numbers of tourmaline (especially the black tourmaline) have not been developed and utilized. The tourmaline has characters for emitting far-infrared ray, releasing negative ion, adsorbing metal positively charged ion and it can be recycle used. The scientists and researchers are attaching importance to it more and more. It has been used as a function material in environment, physical health and other fields in the home and foreign country.What this thesis focuses is Dravite from Hebei, Schorl from Xinjiang and Elbaite from Yunnan, they are all occurring in pegmatites. These samples above that are tested and analyzed by means of X-ray Diffraction and chemical composition analyzed are identified for species, combining with infrared spectrum graph at the same time.In the study of electromagnetic characteristics, measured different species tourmaline's superconductivity in low temperature of 2 kelvin by PPMS measure system. Confirm that the superconductivity is not obvious in this condition. Tested the magnetism different that the crystal orientation of the Schorl and Elbaite. The result shows that tourmaline's magnetism is weak, Schorl is paramagnetic and Elbaite is opposite. For Schorl, magnetism powerful of perpendicular crystal-axle is larger than parallel crystal-axle.The electricity pole of tourmaline crystal will be improved when it has been break into pieces. So make tourmaline into ultra fine powder can open its use. It was found that two stages grinding technology, ball-stirring mill and air-breaking method can make super fine tourmaline. It was observed that the particles'surface were smooth under SEM. Composite films of TiO2 containing fine tourmaline particles by sol-gelmethod. The effect of tourmaline in the TiO2 composite film on the photocatalytic activity of TiO2 was determined by photocatalystic degradation rations of methyl orange measured with UV-visible spectrophotometer, the result shows that the photocatalystic degradation ratio of methyl orange increased by 15%. Using centrifugal-chill method to get compound powder, compared with tourmaline powder and TiO2, the compound powder was the best to promote the plants grown.This study as a part of"Foundation study of reinforce tourmaline particulate's character by surface coating as environment material"receives the doctor tutor of education department sustention.
