The Digital Geological Map And Database At 1:1M Based On The MapGIS

Geological maps is shortened of a variety of geological bodies, characteristics, occurrence and geological structure and geological phenomena with certain rules in the topographic base map, it is a means of displaying the research results, it is the basis information of geological exploration. 1:100 million small-scale geological map is completed basing on a comprehensive study of the regional geological surveys and a wide range of topics data. With the developing of the computer mapping technology, the use of GIS in mapping and building the geological map database, has become the objective needs of development.In this paper, Urumqi sheet (K-45) at 1:1M as an example, the theory and method of mapping and building geological map database based on MapGIS platform are introduced. Geological map is introduced composed of the geographical base map and thematic geologic map. The geographical map is introduced from the mathematical basis choicing, data preparing, geographical factors expressing. And the topic geological map is introduced from the division and expresstion of the stratum, rocks, structure. Finally, the method of map combining and data checking is introduced.The building of geological map spatial database, first of all, is the design of database structure, coding, and other attributes table. And then build graphics database and attributes database, and they are automatically associated by ID.After building the geological map database, the author has improved the understandability of the mapping method, mapping theory, and database technology. Map in GIS technology can combine location with attributes of geological body, and show information accurately, it can assist the geological workers to decision-making analysis.
