As the founder of modern experimental physics, Galileo's contribution to the development of science, are not only important theorems and the special invention, but also his epoch-making scientific ideas and scientific methods. Aristotle's law, which is getting the reason by sense, was replaced with Galileo's method that is using the observation and experiment, applying modern scientific method to mechanics research. In particular, he organically combined the mathematical methods with experimental methods, and claimed that science is the understanding of nature and human. Galileo's scientific thinking completed a major leap forward to the human mind, and his scientific spirit promoted the accomplishment of "Copernicus revolution", and his scientific method boosted the rapid development of scientific cognition. Research on the background of Galileo's scientific methodology, content and its contribution, has an important guiding significance. The purpose of this research, by the excavation of previous work, analyzes the background of Galileo's scientific methodology and Galileo's scientific method from different level, and summed up the historical significance of Galileo's scientific methodology and practical significance. The thesis is made up of four parts:Chapter I: The research background and life of Galileo is introduced.Chapter II: Based on literature analysis method, the background of Galileo scientific methodology is presented, including the previous mathematics and separate experiments.Chapter III: Galileo scientific methodology is illustrated from three different perspectives. Firstly, Galileo combined experiment method and mathematics method, which is the satisfaction way of exact science; secondly, Galileo created the ideal experiment, achieving the real beginning of physics; and finally, Galileo provided a strong guarantee for the scientific research by scientific instruments innovation.Chapter IV: Based on the third chapter, the impact of Galileo's scientific methodology is reviewed which is divided into two parts. The first part is the impact of natural science, which is that Galileo's scientific methodology has a profound influence on the formation and development of classical mechanics, and a large number of subsequent physicists, mathematicians subsequent; the second part is the impact of philosophy, which is Galileo established the scientific methodology, separating science and philosophy.
