Research And Implemention Of GPS Positoning System Based On ARM

Since GPS technology was used in civil use, it is wildly used in each vacation. A great variety of GPS equipments were designed. Along with the development of social, the market of individual portable positioning products becomes larger and larger. On the other hand, as the fast development of computer and embedded technology, the individual hand-held equipment becomes more powerful. Market prospect for hand-held equipment with GPS is very favorable.This thesis mainly introduces a scheme applying the GPS positioning system of intellectual property rights in handheld terminal, which adopts ARM9 platform as hardware, embedded Linux as operation system and Qt/Embedded from Trolltech Company as application program platform.On the base of many reference books and papers, this thesis begins with the development and use of GPS, it describes and introduces the role and significance. Then it outlines the composition and principle of GPS. Following this, the thesis introduces the building of hardware development platform, including the characteristic feature of arm development board, GPS modular and NMEA-0183 data form. Then, it discusses how to build software platform, including how to replant embedded Linux system and Qt/Embedded as GUI. At the end of the thesis, it elaborates on how to pick up the useful GPS positioning information, and design a Qt graphical interface, the method for matching map and positioning information.The thesis provides the experimental result of the target system and analyzing the error of GPS, then summarizes insufficient of the system design in this project and also gives some imaginations of working in the future at last.
